Gearbox swaps

Hi all.
Can anyone shed some light on the possibility of gearbox swaps.
So I have a 2013 vw up here in Australia and they don't come out with a turbo here. I'm looking in to doing a motor swap from a aw polo as they are the same as the vw up gti.
However finding a written off manual car seems to be rare.
What are the chances I can use the automatic and run it in my up?
Or are 5 speed to 6 speed conversions a straightforward swap in the polos as the other option I am toying with is swapping the crappy plastic 5 speed to a polo 6 speed then just turboing the motor in my up.
