Hi all.

Been using Android Auto today, after a break of some months and had searching for gps for the first time in 2.5 years. Was useless mostly what it has been reliable.

Quick search and seems it has been a problem since this Jan. One suggestion that seems to help is to take off the option in Google maps allow gps only when used and to disable battery optimisation.

I haven't tried this out yet but reports are it helps/works

Other suggestion is to used Waze with Android Auto instead of maps.

For the most part AA has worked well for me since 2014 but also experienced problems with the app over the years. In my case I've downloaded off-line maps for my city and found it still works well, except no traffic info etc.

Android Auto can use the AA app?

I'm pleased to report that the searching for GPS message on Android Auto doesn't pop up now.

Pleased as i really didn't want to install another app (Waze) just for that.
