Polo 6C lowering setup

Hey fox,

It's been now over a year and 35000 km and more I'v lowered my daily polo.
The current setup is:

-Bilstein B4: standard, like OEM, stiffer and way more durable
-VW lowering sping: -30mm

Confort is good on highway and on good road with a smooth surface. However on rough roads, it's a bit more of a slap in the face.
But it's still okey to be honest.

My question is: if I change fore Bilstein B6, will I gain a little bit more confort since they are designed for lowering spring ?
Because, because I'm running B4 and so standard shock absorber, it means they are all the time compressed in low stop.

Did you fit shorter bump stops to go with the lowered springs?

If not you may not have very much travel before hitting the stops which will make the ride firmer than it should be.
I fitted GTI bumps stops alround on my son's car and it still wasn't great.

I now have Ibiza Cupra bumps stops on the rear, but can't find anything OEM that is shorter than the GTI ones for the front, so may just have to cut them down a bit.

No, to be honest I just fit all VW brand new standart parts for this setup (for a 6C).

You do you means by "bumps stop" ? Do you have any picture or part number to share ?

Friend of mine says that powerflex top mount bushings aid in a bit of comfort ea. dampen the kluknk noise over potholes.

There is two setup from Powerflex for the 6c: normal and -10mm

Do you know wich one is it ?

If I use the -10mm setup, it means I will seat even lower ? No ?

Coilovers ? Standard or lowered ?

If you use -10 it will be lower. Meaning shock will move -10 towards the tower.
Meaning if you use: -30 springs and stock bushing
-20 spring+(-10 bushing) you get the same "look" with "+10" mm of shock travel - less harsh ride.

Id re-torque the smaller bushing bolt on the wishbone after lowering. You will increase the lifespand of that bushing.

- if im mistaken someone correct me

So If I use my current setup (-30mm spring) plus the -10mm, I will sit even lower (-40mm) so It will be even harder.

The bump stops fit on the shaft of the damper on the front and rear of the car. The very short rear ones which I fitted were 6Q0 512 131 D, but there doesn't seem to be a similarly short front one.

If you've re-fitted standard length bump stops, the car will probably be sitting on them all the time which will make the ride harsher than it should be.

I haven't managed to find anything shorter than 53mm for the front so far. I don't have a part number for the WRC version though.
