Hi all,
I am looking to upgrade my stock BCM High (
6RU 937 087 R) to a BCM Max (
7E0 937 090)
Could you perhaps guide me on which 7E0 937 090 BCM I should be looking out for?
What would be the difference between a 7E0 937 090
B and 7E0 937 090
E, and where can I find more details about the importance and significance about the end letters of the BCM part numbers?
Which BCM Max part number would be suitable for a 6R IND Polo?
(OEM Bi-Xenon headlight to be installed)
Thanks in advance

I think all 090 BCMs should be 434MHZ where the 190 series is the NAR 315mhz.
From what I remember, index D and E are not compatible with VCDS, for the part of adapting remote keys. 090C should be OK though.

Thanks for the insight Iichel,
I have a supplier with a 090B unit. Is there any way to understand the functionality supported by it?
For indices D and E, would the Remote key adaptation be done via ODIS if they are not compatible with VCDS, and is that the only function that is not supported via VCDS for those BCMs?

IIRC D and beyond must be done via ODIS. I don't think there is a list with all functions of any BCM.
But the 7E0 937 090B will do pretty much every function you can think of on PQ25, with the exception of A5 front cam. That is from GW SW C and beyond.

090B BCM Max is fine for oem bixenons. 090D&E additionally supports OEM Led headlights, that I know for sure.
I have installed new 090D BCM Max in my 6R. And I remember, I had adapted the keys using VCDS. Back then I didn't had ODIS. It was quiet a struggle to adapt the keys using instructions from Ross tech website, but eventually I succeeded.
Best would be to buy new latest BCM Max 090D/E if possible.

+1
I installed my
new 090E with VCDS... for me it was as easy as all the previous 090, B, C, D.
The problem is if you buy a second hand BCM 7E0 and the donor car has Kessy.

Thanks for sharing your expertise dear veterans!
So to my understanding, it would be best advisable to go for the 090
E BCM if I am planning to retrofit KESSY to my 6R Polo. (given that it is a new BCM)
Please do correct me if I’m wrong.
Thanks in advance

No, the problem is if your BCM 090D/E comes from a car with kessy. You'll not be able to learn the keys in that case via VCDS.

Thanks a ton for clearing up my doubts
Off-topic, I have 6R2 941 031C, 6R2 941 032C Bi-Xenons with me.
Are the AFS units specific to the headlight part numbers or would they be compatible with all Bi-Xenon part numbers?
If they are specific, could you please help me identify the part number for the AFS units and level sensors I would need to get auto-leveling working?

No it's okay to take the 6R0 bi-xenon AFS module. They are not specific to LHD/RHD. Just make sure your module is for bi-xenon and not for full LED.
