New to the group and I have several questions about my new car. I have searched the group to see if these were asked previously, and couldn't find anything. Apologies if I missed something.
My questions. All are related to my 2023 GTI (AW). (But, prior model experience may be relevant.)
So, has anyone here successfully…
1. retrofitted side-assist (blind spot monitoring)? For example, maybe using https://www.kufatec.com/.../side-assist-incl.-rear...
2. replaced a Discovery Media (mib3) with a Discovery Pro?
3. gotten the “Media Control” app to work with a Discovery Media mib3?
and... about the following two items:
4. Is this some sort of shelf hook? Or, what is it for?
5. This looks like access to open the tailgate from the inside. Is that right?
Thanks for any comments.

Re: New owner questions
1, Yes, I had side assist with rear traffic alert retrofitted to my facelift.
2. I have the pro so can't comment
3. What do you mean exactly?
4. That hook is for a bag indeed
5. Behind there in my car is where the emergency triangle is stored

Re: New owner questions
Yes, as well as storage for a warning triangle, it also provides access to open the tailgate from inside (place a key or screwdriver in the slot and slide it in the direction of the arrow).

Thanks for your response...

It is supposed to allow control of the GPS and radio by passengers using their smart devices. Supposedly it requires a Vehicle Data Interface. (FEC/SWaP code 00060100) I have not been able to find any recent cases of people being able to get that to work..
Did you use a VAG original part?
In that case, are there any real (I.e. practical) besides screen size, do you know if there are any differences between the "media" and the "pro?"?
VAG advertises a smartphone/tablet app called Media Control.

Do you know if that is some special bag -- like a regular accessory? Or, just a hook for any bag that happens to fit?
Thanks.

Re: New owner questions
Thanks, looks like a lot of work. Fortunately, I already have park-assist, so I just need the side-assist sensors. Nice to know it works.Maarten wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 7:45 pmDid you use a VAG original part?

On the navi. Simultaneous navi is nice, I guess. Though, I think I prefer to just have the next turn displayed rather than the whole map. And, I can add speech control via We-Connect. But, agree on the screen size and looks I understand the Pro can be retrofitted, But, it seems it needs a whole new dashboard, so, I will just repeat the old mantra: size doesn't matter
In any case, thanks for your responses and pics.
