Polo 6R Door Lock issue

Post by roby293 »

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with the left front lock on my Polo.
I start by saying that I bought 3 different ones and they give me the same defect...practically with the old original lock the car blocks regularly, while with the new one it doesn't want to block.
Here is a video to understand how it behaves.

I also tried with VCDS and this is all the scan log:

Re: Polo 6R Door Lock issue

Post by ciclo »

Hi,

That BCM is coded for 4 locks/doors, the autoscan only shows two doors.

Byte2 Bit1
- 0 = 2 doors
- 1 = 4 doors

So you should disable Bit1 in Byte2... , but I don't think this is the cause of the problem.

On the other hand, what is the part number of the new locks you are installing? There are several lock versions that can be installed depending on the equipment.
For:
- Central locking system (4F1).
- Central locking system without SAFELOCK (4I1).
- Central locking with radio remote control, interior release mechanism without SAFELOCK (4I2).
- Central locking system with SAFE function (4K3).

Hi,
it seems strange to me that it is encoded for 2 ports instead of 4 ports because that is perhaps the only bit that I have not touched...
Anyway I try to change it but, like you said, I don't think that's the problem

The original part number of my front left door lock is: 5K1837015B

The new lock I tried to install are:
- NTY EZC-VW-108 (bought from autodoc that match the compatibility with my original part number)
- 6RD837015 (bought from aliexpress, the part number doesn't match mine but once fitted it performs the same as the video shown above)
- ABAKUS 132-053-061 (bought from autodoc, this is the last that I tried and showed in the video)

I am going to tell you a story that I had some time ago based on what is called learning or damn experience.

I bought 4 locks at Autodoc for our Golf with the correct specifications - part number, PR codes -, but they did not work correctly - the SAFE function did not work, double locking -.

I returned them to Autodoc and bought the 4 second-hand Volkswagen Original locks with the same specifications on eBay - already used but practically new -, after installing them they worked perfectly - all the functions, SAFE function included-.

Despite my knowledge and diagnostic tools 😄, I was not able to find out why the new locks bought from Autodoc did not work properly and the 4 second-hand Volkswagen Original locks worked perfectly.
There is no specific procedure (with diagnostic tools) for the installation of locks in the VW workshop manual. Just the usual procedure.

Hmm... as the electric central locking is integrated in the door locks, it may be necessary to do a new synchronization with the key, that is, insert the ignition key/remote control into the lock cylinder, press the Unlock button on the ignition key, and Unlock vehicle with the ignition key via lock cylinder within a minute. It's a guess/flash that just popped into my mind right now... 😁 Honestly, it is an occurrence that does not make sense, although the same thing happens when installing the folding exterior mirrors on the 6R and after coding the WRMs, the window comfort function must be established again so that the WRM/BCM learns the new coding.

---
I have looked at the two locks that you bought at Autodoc and they have a different PR code, although the web 'says' that they are compatible with your original lock. 🤷‍♂️
About Ali's one I have not the slightest idea.😊

According to ETKA online your original 015B has been replaced by 015D and this in turn by 015H.
That is, any of the original three should work correctly for you.

Wow more than a story it seems like a real odyssey :(
Hmm... as the electric central locking is integrated in the door locks, it may be necessary to do a new synchronization with the key, that is, insert the ignition key/remote control into the lock cylinder, press the Unlock button on the ignition key, and Unlock vehicle with the ignition key via lock cylinder within a minute.
For this solution, I forgot to say that with the "new but not working like the original" piece it doesn't let me lock the car with the key but only the unlock works so unfortunately I can't use this advice.
According to ETKA online your original 015B has been replaced by 015D and this in turn by 015H.
That is, any of the original three should work correctly for you.
I honestly didn't think that this type of spare part could be different from the previous ones, so what do you advise me to do at this point?
Do I get a new lock with final code 015H?
Or do I get a used but original lock from ebay with the same code as my original?

Unfortunately I wanted to avoid taking it used because I can't know how it works correctly and how long it will last. In my case I want to replace it because it doesn't detect that the car has been opened and therefore if I leave the door open, the car closes after 30 seconds if I don't turn on the car.
OT: this is my odyssey instead

if you want, you can enable/activate in the BCM the Byte4 Bit5 to disable the Re-locking function.

Based on my experience/odyssey, I think it's best to buy the lock on eBay with the original ref number. Locks do not usually have a high failure rate, they can last 13 years, like yours, or 23 years...
How many years do you think you will own your 6R? 😄

You can also buy a new lock at your VW Dealer at a reasonable price.

Perfect, thanks for the replies :)
In fact my door lock last 13 year  like the age of the car that was born in 2010 ; while if memory serves me I bought the car 7/8 years ago.

Anyway, thanks for the advice and I hope to solve it with another lock (hoping it's the right one  )

UPDATE:
after some reflections on whether to buy a new or used part, I opted for the new one with the final code 015H.
After I mounted it, it worked like the original without having the defect that the previous ones had.
Solved!!
Thanks for everything!! :D :D

1- Scan the barcode from the mustache of the previous link.😁
2- If you were not successful with 1, send me your email by private message and I will tell you "in your email" who can provide them to you from the afterlife. )))"

The 2Q0 camera for 'Travel Assist' 💎 in the Golf7.5 is worth it, the improvement in the status of the car is remarkable, similar to having upgraded the car to the next VW generation (Golf8, etc).😁
I am super happy with how it works, now traveling is a real pleasure. I would say it reduces the fatigue of driving by 70%. 👌
