ABS light on + Handbrake light still flashing after blown fuse replacement

Hello!
I drive a 2004 9N Polo ( 1.4 petrol ) and I had an issue where the ABS light would come on and the Handbrake light would be flashing and 3 alarm beeps would go off.
After doing some research, I checked the fuses on top of my battery, and indeed, the 40 amp ABS fuse was blown. At that point I was sure that was the issue, and purchased the 40 amp fuse that was needed.
I replaced it, but the warning lights and the beeping didn't stop.
Any ideas what to check next? Could it be a connection issue? I didn't sand the connecting bolts and surfaces, they looked clean to me and were not corroded.
