BCM Upgrade and not able to match the key

Post by Hiroki »

Good day seniors!

Thank you so much for all the helpful infos that you all shared.
I have a 2011 TSI 1.2 VW polo 6R.
Have been upgrading by following all the helps here.
So far,

- MFSW
- Cruse Control
- 8K parking aid
- Foot wall light
- air intake upgrade using other VW parts
- spray paint the engine cover
- fog light with DRL (2 lights bulb each side)
- RCD 330
- front Speaker upgrade with Sparewheel woofer
- door light
- Alarm siren
- 6C tail light

:lol:

Now I have upgraded my BCM 87 to 90 (Max)

There I get into problem. My car key is 315Mhz and my new BCM is not recognizing my key. I can start the engine and drive without problem but remotes not working.
After studying, it seems like my BCM 90 is using 434Mhz.
I bought some aftermarket keys from AliExpress and also OEM VW second hand key from eBay.
I tried the kw218 method to get SKC but it failed.

I contacted local VW dealer and dealer said they can’t do anything coz I am not supposed to change the BCM.
I contacted some locksmiths and the cheapest one said they can program new key for me but each key will cost 500USD

Is there any way that I could do it myself without spending 500USD?

Thanks a lot in advance

I guess the easiest way is to get a good BCM for 315 MHz

Thanks for the quick reply. However it’s been a problem getting the 315 BCM. All the sellers selling in eBay not able to answer the question. I bought the BCM ends with E coz based on the team-bro website, it should be 315. But end up it is not. Is there any way that I could identify the MHz before buying it please?

for BCM 6R0/7H0/6RU/6RF/5C0/1S0:
no letter = 433mhz
A = 315 Mhz
B = 433 Mhz
C = 315 Mhz
etc

For BCM 7E0:
190 = 315 Mhz
090 = 433Mhz

Thanks a million!!!
However the BCM I bought is 7H0937090E.
So it should be 315?
But my remote is not able to match.
When I use VCDS, after I click “save” my VCDS stopped responding and need to kill it off and re-run it.

Is there anything that I’m missing please?

Thanks

sounds like a defective bcm or something wrong with vcds. it's not necessarily a 315/433mhz incompatibility

Thank you.

May I know is there anyway that I could check the BCM whether is defective or not?

VCDS is working (to my knowledge) well. I did all the other retrofits and they are okay. It’s a genuine cable with valid license.

Thanks

Hi Hiroki

Image

PQ25

Last update for 434 MHz.

The latest updates to 315 MHz were made on the Transporter, Amarok and others.

You must buy a BCM from TR, AMA, etc..., "don't worry about a thing"... :lol: because it comes from PQ25 vehicles other than yours.

If you buy a used BCM, you must take into account that the donor car does not have a keyless entry system (kessy), this way you can match your remote controls with VCDS.

Thank you so much for your kind info sir!

I really do hope I don’t annoy you all with so many questions.
Is there anyway that I could check whether the vehicle has kessy from the VIN number?

Thanks.

I saw one BCM from Transporter T6 2019 Diesel Manual. It is 7E0937090D. VIN number is WV1ZZZ7HZKH072131

Thanks a million!

It should be 7E0937190D (315MHz), not 7E0937090D (434MHz).

With the VIN I have no way of knowing if the donor vehicle is with or without Kessy, you must ask the seller where the BCM comes from.

If it's brand new, no problem...

Thank you so much.

I’m going to try to find one. It seems quite rare to find but I will try first.

In the worse case, if I go to the locksmith, with that 500USD quote, will they be able to program a new key for me even if my BCM is 433 and with kessy?

Thanks

Whatever 7E0937190x (x ->with or without letter/index) is might be useful to you as it is difficult to find used/second hand for 315MHz, even new ones can be cheaper than the ones offered on different websites.

Yes, both are suitable for 315Mhz. (better the 7E0937190B)

Once the BCM replacement and remote controls matching processes have been carried out. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... eplacement

Check that the values of channels 53 and 54 are = '0' (channels dedicated to the HBA function and -7E0 stalks model/electrical configuration-).
You may need to get rid of the Battery Monitoring Control Module - Address 61 - if your 6R is without start/stop system, in which case ask here how to do it.

You will undoubtedly have to do the wiring electrical adaptation when you replace BCM High with BCM Max. This subsequently leads to some changes in the coding.

On rare occasions it is necessary to introduce a new parameterization - data sets, it would be the last step if necessary (with VCP or ODIS).

They shouldn't do it 'if they could'.
The best method is the one already mentioned, changing the BCM with a 315 MHz receiver so that your remote controls with a 315 MHz transmitter can be learned by this BCM.
Then you sell the BCM 090E 434MHz and thus you balance all this expenses.🤷‍♂️
