Hi guys

My girl friend has a 1.2 65bhp polo on a 53 plate.

WIthin the first month of having it I wasnt happy with the squeaky suspension so I said she should take it back in.

They ended up stripping and rebuilding the rear brakes, GOD KNOWS WHY! I wasnt happy but we had been messed about so much we couldnt be arsed taking it back.

It had the rattle in the dash from day one but after being treated like a cunch of bunts regarding the suspension we couldnt be arsed taking it back for that.


I searched the web ages and ages ago but alas couldnt find anyone else complaining about it so I decided to give it a rest.

Then today I do another search as I was driving it last night while it was squeaking away and I find this cool site.

Ive now just phoned the VW garage after reading about the modified bushes and its booked in soon to get them fitted. RESULT!

One other thing is that there is no light in the boot, anyone got a DIY guide to fit one?

Also there is a "wusssh" noise sometimes when you press the throttle.

Its only on the initial press of teh throttle.

Any ideas what this is?

I heard a neighbours car do teh same when he set off the other day?

I thought there was a guide on fitting a boot light in the DIY section, had a quick look but was mistaken. I'm sure some people have done it on here but there are DIY sections on fitting footwell lights, you could take some information from these sections and adapt to suit.

If not someone else should help.

If you don't have any luck with the modified bushes you could try VW customer services and see what they recommend, unfortuanately this has been an ongoing issue on the 9n Polo but don't let it detract from the rest of the car, which i'm sure you find is above the respective Ford/Vauxhall in terms of overall quality.

I was after a DYU for the boot light but I haven't figure where I can get 12v current in the boot When someone have one please say something

The "wuush" is normal (mine does that also).

I can very vaguely remember one our members looking into doing this a while back. It wasn't that straight forward as, if I recall correctly, the he found that there wasn't the required parts of the loom present to just plug into.

This was ages ago, though and I might be wrong.

I've saw a car with boot light and it's just P&P but in cars that haven't got the boot light from factory one must get two cables: the 12v current and the other one that "says" if the trunk is open or closed. I know where the second cable is but I don't know where I can get the 12v in the boot.

mole did this mod for me on my 1.2 Polo. Found a 12v supply at the headlamp switch. Easy enough to do if you know what your doing.

Only cost is the wiring, the £6.00 light and in my case, the fuse I blew while mole was voltage testing

If Mole or you could put where a simple DIY or even put here a paint draw of the place where you got the 12v I would be most grateful

mine does that. i think it sounds pretty cool! bit of a suck to the engine.
