Bonnet to grille panel gap… how to adjust?

Post by ad_182_uk »

Hi all.

I noticed when looking head on at the car there is a larger gap on one side vs the other (pic below)

Now checking through some photos it looks like it’s only ever been like this since REVO HQ had it for when it was made stage 2, this was over a year ago now so suprised I only just noticed it.

Anyway, i don’t fancy the 3 hour round trip back to REVO to adjust, is this something that can be done at home (assuming it can be fine tuned at all?)

The pic :D

Try the adjusters under the bonnet.
Black rubbers, you can twist them, longer or shorter

Adjusted the rubbers but they seem to not affect the area I am having an issue with. I notice there is a latch either side with a small amount of movement available.

But even at its lowest the drivers side is still too high. I can get the passanger side flush by moving the latch but for now ive tried to just make it even.

Any other ideas?

Just a thought based on my own experiences - is the driver’s side bonnet catch fully engaging when you close the bonnet?

On a recent occasion when I closed the bonnet after checking under-bonnet fluid levels, only the passenger side catch fully engaged and it looked similar to yours. I lifted the bonnet again and let it drop from a slightly higher height to close it and both catches engaged as normal and it’s always latched properly every time since then.

Yes fully engaged. Tried adjusting the latch, the rubbers and the latch attached to the bonnet itself.

Will have to take to a bodyshop or vw specialist see if they know something i dont.
