Front Traffic Signal Camera As Dashcam?

Hi all

I’m due to pick up a 72 plate GTi in the next week or so and have been looking online for any copies of the owners handbook to look through without success.

I read on the Carwow review that the front camera for traffic signals can be used as a dashcam by adding a memory card but I’ve found no reference of this anywhere else.

Can anyone confirm/deny this please?
