Hello everyone

I'm trying to retrofit a g85 sensor on a polo 9n3 (BNV engine) non esp to subsequently install a sports steering box (no g250 sensor).
The sensor I purchased is this:




To test I connected the cables as shown in the diagram:


-pin 2 (can low) to pin 3 of the BMC xs6 connector;


-pin 3 (can high) to pin 5 of the BMC xs6 connector;


-pin 4 to earth directly to the battery; pins 5 (+30) and 6 (+15) joined together directly to the battery positive.

Are the connections correct?

Now if I change the power steering coding (44) from 101xx to 112xx this excludes the g250 sensor;

Subsequently if I go into the CAN control unit (19) in group 126 I see that it recognizes the sensor.


But now I'm stuck here, I don't know how to proceed because I can't find the angle reading given by the sensor: how should I proceed?

As additional info I can say that I saw the g85 sensor present in the instrument control unit (17) but here I note that there is no communication


and that I only tried to turn on the car without walking on it.

can you access the module itself? does your car have an ESP system? I guess not since your car didn't have it from factory? vcds autoscan?

no, I can't access block 04 (if that's what you mean);
My Polo doesn't have an ESP from the factory (thankfully).

I tried to do a lap and I don't have power steering, so I loaded my sister and gave her the g85 telling her to turn it as similar as possible to my movements... it's difficult, but seems to have power assistance like this; I'll have to mount it behind the wheel and give it a good try.

But in any case I can't login to calibrate the sensor and I can't find the degree reading from any control unit

maybe you can do the basic setting via 44 power steering module?

I login by entering "40168" but after 2 seconds it reloads everything and the highlighted text appears (in the various measurement blocks of the power steering control unit there is nothing that refers to the g85, but only to the g250; which having changed the coding to 112xx results "no")
