Promblems Gearbox

Hi together,
I am having problemes with the manual Gear Box on my Polo 6R 1.4 Bi Fuel (Engine CMAA).
Most of the time I have problems turning from neutral to the 3rd Gear. I think it is the shift linkage and not anything in the gearbox itself like the synchronization rings or something like that. The reason for that is that I am hearing no strange sounds during the shifitng process. I have just problems with turning the Shift stick from neutral to 3rd Gear. In the shift stick I feel a meachanical resistance and it comes a point where I can not push it forwards any more.
Do you have any ideas? Do you belive it is the Shift linkage inside the Gear box or the wire rope hoist which transfers the forces from the shift stick to the gear box?
