2010 vw polo 1.4 automatic… So i kicked the plastic trim under my steering wheel and the lights on the dash and the radio lights went out.. later i found out that a connection had come loose so i plugged it back in and now my power steering doesn’t work. Checked the fuses under the steering wheel and around tge battery and all is well. I had another pump fitted and it still isn’t working. The pump has power can’t imagine it would be steering rack related? Any help?

check fuses on the battery( even the fuses 8! the small box). Ok you checked that

Do you have any warning lights on the dash?
Are you sure all the fuses under the steering wheel are good?

maybe the steering angle sensor isn't talking? scan it with a diagnostic tool

I think that he would still have power steering even if g85/g250 is not communicating, but the warning lamp would be ON.

I know from that time when you helped me retrofit g85. When i coded it, but didnt have power- light was on but i had power steering.

Still if he can get hands on diagnostic tool it would help us to help him.

If not, then a test light and multimeter for start.

You retrofitted it, so you probably had the fall-back to the internal G250 of the rack. A car with ESP from factory (and Im not sure thats the case here) does not have G250. So no powersteering when G85 is disconnected/lost basic setting.

All fuses have been checked. Waiting to get a diagnostics tomorrow and the pump has power going to all the plugs. One connector was like 12.5volts and the other was like 2.5-3 volts

J500 is the steering pump
Wire color:
ws = white
sw = black
ro = red
rt = red
br = brown
gn = green
bl = blue
gr = grey
li = purple
vi = purple
ge = yellow
or = orange
rs = pink

sA4-blue is +12V
and Sb26 is +12V ( ignition on)

And can-hi low resistance 60-70 ohm ( battery negative terminal off)
check if the can hi, and can low isnt shorted to +12 or to gnd ( continuity test is ok)

If you dont have g250 then one of the connectors on your abs pump will have no wires coming from it.
