Is the latest Polo GTI's transmission Wet or Dry Clutch?

Hi - my first post here. I already own a 2019 Polo GTI (with the 6-speed wet-clutch DSG gearbox) but would like to find out whether latest versions (which use a 7-speed 'box) are dry-clutch (as in DQ200, used in lower-powered variants of the car) - or wet-clutch as used in the Golf GTI.

Trawling the 'net is very frustrating - I can't seem to get a believable definitive answer on this one. I'd greatly appreciate any help with this!

I'm pretty sure you'll either have the DQ250 6-speed or the DQ381 7-speed DSG. both are wet clutches.

Thanks for that. I sort of guessed that might be the case, comparing engine torque figures with what seems to be the maximum input torque for the DQ200. Google's AI seems to think otherwise, but that's probably just an example of why it's important not to take everything at face value.

The current / latest Polo GTI uses VW’s DQ381 7 speed DSG transmission which, as @iichel has said, is a wet clutch transmission.

Interestingly, I think the South African market still uses the DQ250 6 speed DSG in the current Polo GTI.

Thanks - that sounds definitive. I have to say I'm a big fan of the Polo GTI, and the prospect of the latest version having more gear ratios (and improved suspension?) sounds attractive.

Yes, @SRGTD, here in SA the facelift model still uses DQ250 6 speed DSG and also has the same performance output as the 2018 model. The reason we're told is because our fuel is not quite up to scratch but this may change soon, thankfully.
