My 2020 Polo match has now reached 50000. Is it now time to consider a change? What do you think. Any high mileage users out there?

Are there any known large(r) maintenance items coming up that you’re aware of? - e.g. new set of tyres, new battery, brake pads / discs, issues flagged up as advisories during MOT’s? Are there any other mechanical issues that you’re aware of that might be costly to resolve?

If the answer’s ’no’ to all or most of the above, if it’s been reliable and trouble-free and you’re generally happy with it and the car’s general condition good (i.e. no bodywork issues such as dents, scratches, corrosion that might be expensive to repair) then IMHO there’s a strong argument for keeping it. It’s also reached an age where it will be losing very little value due to depreciation so ongoing costs should be low. If you’re getting it serviced regularly and getting any other scheduled maintenance jobs are carried as and when they’re due, you could have many more trouble free years of motoring ahead.

If you do keep your car, you could consider buying a good warranty to cover any future potentially expensive mechanical / electrical failures; that will be a cheaper option than changing to a new - or newer - car.

I've had my vehicle 6 years and now has ± 80 000 miles on the clock (127000km) and it still drives like the day I bought it. Maintenance is important so if you keep it maintained it will last a long time. Here VW offer maintenance plans up to 300 000KM so there is still some life left in your car yet

I think in the current climate I’d be inclined to keep it. 50k miles is nothing really imo.
If your needs have changed, growing family etc or it needs major maintenance then I’d consider it.
