Workshop Manual + Clutch

Hello folks,
Newby Polo owner here. Two opening questions if I may...
Firstly which workshop manual do you recommend?
And secondly, how hard is a clutch replacement?
I have mechanical skills (apparently

) but only the driveway to work on.
So is it doable for a keen DIY'er? or definitely a job for a garage?
Thanks,
Stuart.

eRwin is or was the source of main dealership level technical resources to all non VW Group workshops and anyone else wanting that information, but from maybe 12/12/25 that service will only be made available to workshops/businesses, which is annoying.
So either get in there quickly, reg or create an account and buy online time to download workshop manuals and everything else you might need.
Or, just a copy of the workshop manual that came from the same source but from an earlier date, I would not thing that if it is from an earlier date should worry you as hopefully when the download as taken by for instance easymanuals.co.uk
I bought one for my 2011 Audi S4 6MT and for my wife's 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS 6MT and they have been put to use quite a few times.

Request permission to download them, my secretary will give you access to download them.
Please be patient, she sometimes goes out for breakfast or something similar.

Once you read the manual on how to change the clutch —which is always the right thing to do, but something many people don't— I hope it helps you make the right decision about who should change the clutch.
I don't know if you'll need any special tools listed in the manual... don't hesitate to buy them, even if they're not the original ones. It will make the job much easier.
Good luck in any case!
