Infotainment OTA software updates

I recently spent over 5 hours downloading Software update (MO13_EU_VWMQB_P3340 which is on par with watching paint dry. Despite having made the effort to connect the car to my wifi access point, the download was throttled on the VAG side of things. The download is 3675Mb in size. The first 700-1000Mb is very slow (10-20Mb chunks drip fed) as it consists of the handshake protocol, involving checking the VIN etc, then the bulk of the data will come in, and then the last 500Mb or so will involve checking the download package, before you start the update process. Which in itself can take 30-90 minutes. I’m told that doing this update via the inbuilt eSIM can take 10hrs+
