Here the story...

I've got a Polo 9N which was the special edition 'Twist' and it comes with a lowsy 'Beta' radio which is now replaced by a swining Alpine head-unit. But as it only came with some front components and the crappy 'Beta' head-unit only supported front left/right speakers.

The standard ISO plug in the dashboard doesn't have the required cables for the back. Da der DAAAAN! (sound effect) Shocking ey?

Well I was wondering how I possibly put some cables in to that ISO plug for the back?

Or should I cut the two wires from my head-unit to manually connect the speaker cables in.

Got the situation?

Resolution required - ASAP.

im on the same boat here, Polo Twist with a Beta head unit, soon to be replaced by a new headunit, how do i wire up rear speakers

Oh right, glad I'm not the only one.

I've sorted my headunit, amp and sub out. Wondering about my next project now.

i just put all my speakers thru an amp. therefore no need to wire speakers to headunit. all u need in headunit is an RCA and remote wire

Got that. But I didn't really wanna get a amp 'cos I thought my Alpine 4*60watts (V-drive) would be enough for now.

But I think I might just cut the wires from the head-unit to connect them myself for the sake of it.

how do u connect them manually? i dont know what u mean...... looked at an ISO connector and i dont understand it!

The four female connectors and wires on the block for the rear speakers are missing on the cars connection block, rite? However you can just add your own. The female connectors just click into the back of the block. You'll have to buy those female connectors/pins (sorry dont know the correct name for these) from somewhere tho.

Or you could just cut the four wires from the ISO adaptor block that you are using to connect the headunit to the cars block.

I did try and find those pins/plugs thingy to plug my own speaker cable into them. But I have found that I couldn't find any.

My solution was to cut the standard ISO cables and plug it in myself.

Like this.... well that's me in the picture if you guessed who the f*** that is! You see those little "bullet terminals" that I used to connect the wires together?

anychance of a detailed DIY writeup? im a dummie when it comes to electrics....

I'll get back to you ASAP mate, but I gotta eat now - starving. And it will take me some time for all the details + it's different for certain head-units.... i'll be back.
