Guys....

I've just bought some new 16" BBS Splitties...they are ET45, just as the standard GTI rims...the tyres on them are 205/45...any idea that they will fit with no problems? I got them second hand, finally found some that were four stud, hard to come by...a 'breaker' in Sheffield was selling them so I thought it must have been fate...(I live in Sheffield you see!)...What the hell, just trying to convince myself that I shuld part with my money for them!

I've compared them to mine and they seem so much bigger...it's only an inch I say...didn't realise how much difference...CBurns, how on earth you get those 17" on yours I'll never know!

You lucky @*#&.

I love those wheels. Contemplated getting them as well.

Lose the tyre and you'll be fine - once the 195-40's are on...

Ha ha ha, thanks, been looking for them for a while, fancied staying with the 'stock' or OEM+ look but they seem to be hard to come by!

I've PM'd you by the way..need some advice on those tyres measurements...I tried them on for size today...and yes, as I thought they rub, thought I could have gotten away with it but the rear of the arch, where there is a plastic cover gets in the way (all shiney now!) and also the bottom of my shocks are rubbing too...should I be concerned?

I think a new set of tyres is going to have to be required...just hope they will fit in the end..CBurns, again how on earth do you get those 17"s on?

After have a look on them on...and the standard 15"...I'm not sure the 16" look any better...will have to post some pics for you guys to see...

from the amount of p*** taking from Josh I hope they look alright! ha ha ha!

They fit on fine without the car being lowered i only had to cut away a square of the lining at the fronts.

Now that it's been lowered it rubs slightly at the back when there are three or more people in the car, but i reckon i'm gonna take the lining out of the rear arches and this should sort it for me. I believe they screw off easily just need a torx head screwdriver (i think thats the name)

Lookin forward to seeing some pics mate!!
