Car is coming on nicely. Just remember when you buy the car to get the Sport suspension bump stops otherwise your handling will be crap!

did u have sports suspension on ur old 1.2?
or did u have standard shocks?
im on a pretty low budget now and i was thinking of just getting eibach -30mm springs only.

whats the ride/ handling with standard shocks?

I was unhappy with it tbh, but bear in mind I do nearly an hours driving to work each day so I prefer a nice ride.

Order (X2) of 6Q0 512 131C and make sure these are fitted when the car is lowered! Otherwise your rear suspension will be riding on bump stops and not the springs! Resulting in poor handling! The Sports bump stops are 10mil shorter than the Standard suspension equivalent. These wern't changed on my 1.2 9n so this could be why my ride was so harsh.

I've just cut down the bump stops on my 9n (45 mil drop) and the handling is now fantastic! It was well wallowy before but I can chuck it into corners no problem now!

so neil, considering the improvement you got from modifying your bump stops, would you recommend 30mm VW lowering springs on standard suspension, provided that we get the sport bump stops? i really don't want to invest lots of money on shocks if i could get a similar performance/price ratio out of springs only...

Well, I can't say really as I've never tried that combination. But it'll definately help

You will never get the benefits of coilovers through standard shocks and aftermarket springs. It all depends on what you want from the suspension and your budget of course. Personally, If I had the money lying around i would've gone for a KW V2 coilovers. But most of driving is 40mph on straight unwinding roads. So i don't really have the need for them!

So, basically. Go for what you feel suits you!

now all these parts start to make me worried........

where can i get sports shocks? bump stops? springs?

and what bout the price?
