the body work is solid enough. a bit of surface rust tho.
ive got a GT already, but ma m8s running a 1ltre Genesis so hes taking the engine, ive got the aloys (they r 13" BBS thats all i no, hopefully get some pics soon) & the interior is in better condition to mine (no rips, cig burns, jst a bit grubby)
so for £50 each weve got a load of spares & a bare shell to play with

it cood be fun!

So let me get this straight
Out of a 1-litre genesis
And a 99% fine GT (usable engine, slightly dirty seats, "surface rust")
You're tearing the GT apart?!?!
SERIOUSLY, what is so wrong with the bits you havent yet mentioned, that you have to do that?

and to insure a car with an engine conversion will probably cost more than a staright GT.
makes sense to keep it as a GT

yeh i no but my m8 spent ages looking for a black squareback, hes recently had it resprayed, so it looks good. we dont have the registration details for the GT (atleast not yet) so we dont no bout MOT n stuff.
Everything with the engine seems good, it ticks over better than mine!
For me personally £50 for a set of GT seats & 4 BBS alloys is a bargin, so thats all i got to worry about.

Nice one, I think I know the guy youre talking about with the black Genesis hes on my msn (logic0101 or something like that) Youve done really well there to get all that stuff so cheap I thought i did well when I got a 1.3 polo engine out of a coupe S with a starter motor and 5-speed box for a tenner. It also had an alloy rocker cover!
