AADIRVM & RS Retro fit. SUCCESS!!!

For those of you interested I have finally installed the Automatic anti dazzle interior rear view mirror and rain sensor.
Total cost £325.90 (GBP) incuding a new windscreen!!!
Probably cost less if I'd ordered all the parts in one go.
I used new, correctly coded wire. I have stacks left over in variouse colours. Let me know if you want to buy some. 5m of each colour was enough to do the job. I've also got lots of the connectors, new & uncrimped, for adding to J519 plugs.
You do require VAG-COM or a friendly VAG garage with VAS 5052 to code the RS in J519.
I think it's worth it. Both work a treat and once you have the wiring diagram figured out, along with the parts list it ain't a big job. Infact it's easy if you go for the replacment windscreen!!!
Parts list here:
Mechanical Part 6 (Boss) is optional. I ordered it to try to stick onto the existing glass, but there's a ceramic plate on the normal screen and a ring on the AADIRVM screen. Also even with the right VW mirror glue, getting it to stick is a sod. I gave up and got Auto Windscreens to put in a new screen for £50 (U know how
) The boss was usful as I could say "I smaked the mirror with my head and the mirror fell off!!!! Can you see the Bump?" LOL
TBC - I'll upload the parts list to my website for people to download and put the link here.
Thanks & Hope it helps
