17" Santa Monica's on a 9n?

Hi there,

Although this is my first post under this user name, I was on here quite some time ago under a different name (I've owned 2 9n's already!)

I first had a 1.2E 55bhp before upgrading to a 1.2 Twist 65bhp. I sold the second one this summer, as at the time I knew I'd be off to Bath Uni in October, and would not have anywhere to park my car. Well anyways, now that I'm here (and loving it too), I've just found out I can actually get hold of a parking permit, so another Polo is on the cards! :D

This time around, I'll be after a diesel - either the 1.9 TDi Sport or the GT. 8)

Anyway, there's the background info. What I'd like to know is whether I'd be able to fit a set of Santa Monica's on a Polo (i.e. does the Polo have the same wheel fitments as the Golf?) If so, is the wheel arch extension kit necessary (the brochure says you need it for the Exor 17" wheels)?

Oh, and if anyone has a pic of a 9n with them on (or has the necessary photoshop skills), I would be extremely grateful! :)

hello!

the Polo 9n has a stud pattern of 5x100 and is the same as the MK4 Golf.
the wheel arch extension kits are a waste of money.......

Santa Monicas are 17x7.5..... i have 18x8 and are fully legal as they dont stick out the arches.

heres a pic

Cheers for the info mate!

Yeah, it's a shame there aren't more pics of the car from different angles but at least gives me an idea. Just trying to decide whether they look right or not. Is it on standard VW sports susp? Looks light it. Perhaps lowered and with the Votex kit it would look better. :)
