The 3 blink indicators...

Post by Nelson_Wilbury »

...just found out on Polo9n.com that its controlled by the ECU so your local VW dealership should be able to sort it for you.

if your good with electronics then there might be another way to do it too so that means that any car can have it as all you have to do is add 12v to the switched side of the indicator switch for the time it takes to do 3 blinks

Apparently looking at Polo9n.com this can be changed as a convienience function.

Definately gonna get this done as I'm too used to the A4's doing it :lol:

It's strange that the UK spec car's are not fitted with this, which is essentially just a comfort feature (setting). Our local Polo range, from the basic 1.4 all the way up to the 1.9TDi has this function. Even full colour coding is standard, except for the 1.4 models (which does not offer an option for it to be ordered that way).

This function has been standard on the 9ns for a year now, but for some reason they didn't programme it in on the earlier cars :(

I think its such a great function, especially when changing lanes on motorways and dual carriageways :)

It's really great I got so used to it that I blink too short when I drive another car...

Only problem is when you try to blink "Thank you" (one left , one right) to a lorry.... :(

Doesn't matter about the lorry drivers. I have little to thank them for (except making me late for work!)

:lol:

Will be getting this function enabled when I get my cruise control installed 8)

Hmmmm, I got my 9N polo in June 2002 and mine came with the three blink indicators.

Thing is though this is a great thing most of the time, but a real pain if you catch the indicator while moving your hand up fomr the gearstick.. then you can't stop it till it's done it's 3 blinks :D

Typical! :( My car was built June 2002...

By the way, noticed you still have the non-aero wiper, get it sorted! :D

Pah, It's already been ordered :P

Though I have to say that the link that matt (Vag Parts) sent me didn't contain the custom purchase link that he said it would...

The other day I took my Polo to the dealer for the revision and I asked if they could activate this function for me, and they did it! Now I have 3 blink indicators! It works very good! I can't understand why they don't activate this function from the start.
Here in Spain it is not activated by default, not even the Autolock!

Is there somewhere a list of all this functions?
As far as I know there is:
* 3 Blink indicators (i have this)
* Autolock (i have this)
* Beeping wen activating/deactivating the alarm
* Different steering wheel assist
* Activate the rear wiper when reversing (i have this)

Anything else?

Glad you managed to get the "3 Blink Indicators" activated 8)

As for the fuctions, I think that's all there is - that we know about.
Oh, "One Touch" windows - have you got these?

Yes, I've got it from the beginning, Mole. I think it is standard in Spain.
