Hi i am going to Germany on Wednesday to go the motor show in Essen. I am going to be there for 5 days. I would also like to use some of the time in Germany to look for a car that has all the stuff i need to convert my sweet little n6 1.3 to a 1.8T.

I recon Germany would be the best place to pick one up. What i really need help with is finding out what type of car that would be the best to bye. Golf, TT, A4, A3. i am blank and need to know. My friends say that it would be best to by a golf, but they don?t know what model i am to bye, and they have little or no experience with golf and polo´s. The price is the biggest issue i guess, course i would like to get a donor car as cheap as i can, but also know that i have bought the right car.

Also i would like to know some internet addresses that have crashed cars in Germany. I know there are lots of pages like this, but i just cant seem to find any.

1, What car is best to convert a n6 1.3 to a 1.8T? Model, year, cheapest?

I'd suggest www.mobile.de for cars in Germany, although I haven't looked for wrecks yet.

Most people go for early models, because you avoid the CAN-Bus system on the newer models. Essentially, I'd go for a 1999 or earlier (1998?) TT and make sure you get the ignition + keys, computer and all stuff bolted to the engine.

Get as much of the wiring loom as you can you will need it. Fusebox, relay plate and the battery fuse box.

Get the gearbox and the gear change mechanism aswell.

You will also need all the ancillaries from around the engine bay, get as much as you can airbox, battery, charcoal canister, altitude sensor coilpack amplifyer,radiator, intercooler EVERY THING.

You will definatly need the Key Ignition barrell ECU and the clocks. Get the indicator and washwipe levers as well.

And lastly dont forget to get the fuel pump!

hehe.. jes we do it in KM/h over here .. but its ok with all the parts, couse i am getting a whole car! taking the whole thing over to norway. but the problem seems to be that no one really knows what exact car i would need, should use, modell, color hehe.. anyone got any idea ?

From what I've heard so far, your best bet is an older Audi TT with a 5 speed manual, 180hp engine. Older meaning pre-2000.
