Here’s a controversial one, from Auto Express this week:
[quote]“All audible car alarms could be banned on new cars under plans to be considered by the Government. A private member’s bill has been tabled by Norman Baker, Lib Dem MP for Lewes, East Sussex, following complaints from his constituents that the loud sirens are a nuisance.â€

what a load of crap!
even if this did become law, a tracker isn't going to stop someone chavving ur radio or vandilising your car!
the whole idea of an alarm is to "alarm" people to whats going on! its in the name! you couldn't have a silent! "o look my silent is going off!" doesn't have the same ring!
i agree, an alarm going off for no aparent reason is quite annoying which i think they are going for on this quote, but there is an easier way! a little note on the screen to say could u please sort it out!

stupid whats the point of an alarm if it can't alarm!
anyway car alarms are only permitted to go off 30 seconds so unless it's going off constantly wheres the annoyance.the only way to protect your car if this comes into force would be to fit a pager device and disconect the siren.

they're banning radar detectors (again!) just as im almost able to afford one
things that download speed camera data from the web are allowed still, but of course that wont save you from the b*stard mobile twunts!
what the hells is the offence going to be though.... do you know why we stopped you sir.... no officer, i wasnt speeding or driving dangerously and my car is in good working order - has a numberplate fallen off? no son, we somehow managed to gen that you've got a radar detector, that's 3 points and a hundred quid fine, oh and we'll confiscate the equipment too...

Norman Baker, Lib Dem MP for Lewes, East Sussex
I think we should all go round his house and batter some sense into him. He might be a nice bloke but I don't think he's thought this one through!

LMFAO
That's funny!

(of course I would never condone such behaviour)

dont forget to go and edit the disclaimer into that mate, otherwise you could potentially be done for incitement
and the SOCA will take a very dim view of that i'm sure. you'll be 'forced' to answer 'questions'...
