See I don't want to upset anyone but this smacks of a photoshop to me

18 km's on the clock

5.4 kms on the trip

Full tank of fuel

Temp at Normal

No shake on the camera at all

I don't think the gearing of a GTi equates to those revs at that speed

If it is real and I still think its a "p-shop" then just what kind of muppet would do that to an engine not even run in

it's not 18km - you can't read all the digits... or am i missing something?

148PS is not the standard GTI 6N....

but the gearing seems a bit odd - I think 7k in mine would be about 125 not 138, although I don't know the 6N GTI's final drive ratio - and it could well be lower than mine.

It's all too neat IMHO and one further thing did they have red needles on the continent..... cos we only got white ones here  Didn't we

Also remember Speedo’s tend to become rather inaccurate at high speeds  As we found out on a top speed run in my mates 200. The speedo was so far of the clock, yet the timing gear and GPS only showed the car doing 167mph at the 1.2 mile marker

Si :)

it might be fake

another polo gti going at over 125

Image

the angles and what not make getting accurate readings on the rev needle difficult

theres places that do 5% longer 5th gears for polo gtis so that might explain some

dunno

be nice to have a 140+ bhp polo gti and do 140 in it

MK4 GTi, not MK5 GTI

Could be downhill too.

Ive seen an indicated 125mph on a flat so could posibly scrape 130 downhill.

If the Gti has slightly longer gearing I guess it could be possible.

The car I dont think is a 6n2 GTI, because the instrument binacle are different on the 6n2, however the clocks are exactly the same as a uk mk4 Golf GTI using kmh instead of mph.

I think the polo in question may be more than capable of the speed using a tuned 1.8T engine.

The reason that the milage is low is probably because they reset the milage after the conversion was completed.

Could be wrong though!

or it could be a mk4 golf gti with the caption wrong on the website...
