Hi there folks,

My car is due a service in the next month and i was going to mention to the garage, when i take it in, about a problem i have with the car. I believe it may be the Gearbox Linkage that are mis-alligned, as when i'm driving in the rush hour stop start scenario you sometimes have to have two attempts at getting the car into 1st gear...... You know try to get into 1st..... won't go.... into neutral off the clutch, back on the clutch and then pops into 1st gear ok.

What i want to know is how big a job this is for them to check....The linkage allignment i mean..... Just so i can go in there fore warned with a rough idea etc.....

Cheers

Dave.

Iirc correctly, it shouldn't take long, I had it done once before the lady at the counter said that they simply put the car on the ramp, hoist it up and they have this template that aligns the linkages inplace should they be out...somehow I think it isn't as simply as that but you could always ask before before and get them to ring you should the work involve more work...and money!

Good luck mate!
