well ive heard/seen rumours of vw possibly bringing out a mk6 with the 1.8t in it (prolly limited hp thou) and i was wandering what kind of extras you would like to see on it~?

id like to see:
-sports suspension (real suspension thou)
-17"s
-wider arches
-revamped interior with either colored highlights of metal (brushed ally?) inserts
-adjustable bucket seats (not wrap around but supportive)
-some special colors (i.e. ones not available on other models)
-a limited run "Race version" with no creature comforts (no radio and lacking interior) for weight savings as this would probably insight some people to create a series for them
-some modifing support like chips so that people dont try and get more power by doing silly things

your turn and please remember that there is a chance that vw could be reading this so YOU could help create the new polo R18

I quite like the look of the Polo Supersport, or whatever it's called. It's that blue race thing Jutta Kleinschmidt thrashes about... I know it's too much for series production, but they can take some clues of it, now can't they!

But on a more serious note, I quite like the suggestions you made. Recaro's are a must (based on the Style model, preferably) and so are 17's. BBS obviously. The ally interior bits will be in there as well, I'm quite sure!

Fingers crossed.

And Xenons too! How could I forget!

GTi 150 bhp, 6speed, 1.8 Petrol and 1.9 Deisel Engines. Proper sports seats/suspension. 16's standard. Convertable option.

R18 180 bhp, 6speed, 4WD. 17's Standard but could fit 18's. Only available in Blue/Silver/Black.

I'll have an R18 please!

James.

I think it would nice to see the R18 looking similar to the FSi, perhaps with a few subtle differences like slightly wider arches, different lights (front and rear), 17s minimum, and 4WD badge on the back. And ask SEAT what they do with a 1.8t engine cause they always seem to have more power.

I think the polo R18 should be a real street sleeper, gaining respect from people in the know, and embrassing VTS/GTi owners that have just been wiped out by a tarted up Polo.

Rumour has it that VW will restrict any eventual 1.8T Polos to 150bhp so that they won't clash with the Seat Ibiza Cupra (Seat's supposed to be sporty brand you know).

'Course that's only a matter of digital tweaking.

I agree that a stripped-down 1.8T Polo would be very cool (think Peugeot 106 Rallye-type interior, obviously without the red carpeting!). Then again, VW's WRC brand is Skoda, so that's another improbable (but certainly winning) formula.

We could always strip our 1.8T Polos down and borrow bits from whatever Skoda that gets the WRC treatment! 8)

For me, 16" darkened wheels (not too spokey, please), bigger fogs (or rather driving lights) at the front, interior details in red like Petrified's car but including red seatbelts, and that magnesium wheel from Lupo 3L, only smaller perhaps. Some extra gauges for oil etc. would be nice too. Maybe white speedo and tachometer like those in 2003 VW Gols.

I do realise that the red interior only works with certain colours so please make mine a black one, VW. :P

:D :D
My next purchase may be some red seat belts, I'm not sure where to get them though. And maybe to have black/red not the dark grey colour. Also the seats in the mk5 GTi look better (black with red bits) 8)

Oh, and 3 spoke steering wheel, lockable glove box... more black less grey.

Oh, and 3 spoke steering wheel(...)
Mine's got a 3-spoke wheel, but I love the metallic spokes in the 3L!

Yes it does, just had a look at the pics... I think they are a lot better than the x-wing ones we get. Although it probably cost a bit to replace the wheel so I don't think it's something I would change in a hurry.

Unless the R18 comes with a nice one...

The one on the MK5 Came with an airbag, and the Golf GTi one is pretty sweet.

Those fitted to BR Polos are the same steering wheels as found in Golfs (and some Passats too, but in Passats they have 38cm in diameter, 36cm for Golf and Polo).

But in the Polo they're soft plastic, not leather like in the bigger cars. Unless you order the Sportline pack I think.
