xmas eve road rage

so its christmas eve and i'm driving home from work, gonna drop some cards off on the way

its wet

and its going dark

i'm pulling off a slip road onto a 2 lane motorway way, a van escort van has just gone into the outside lane - i assume hes letting me on to the motorway, so i go into the lane. as i'm going faster than him i also undertake him - not intentionally being a t**t, i was just going faster and he'd moved over.

anyways.

he then is behind me, flashing his headlights and indicating like crazy.

i offer a wave type thing, but my rear window is well wet and he wouldnt see s**t.

so hes still following me, still flashing and still indicating like crazy.

so i let him over take me. he does. swerves infront of me and lamps on his brakes. then does it again. oh. and again.

so now i'm following him, the junction i want is coming up.

i plan to just veer off at the last minute and let him drive on.

i do this. only somehow (and christ i dont know how) he makes it off as well.

so now coming up the sliproad to a set of lights hes behind me. stop at the lights (arse). they're just changing (mint)

he swerves around me and blocks the lanes infront of me like a cop in a film. (arse).

hes jumped out, looks p ssed and p ssed. i on the other hand was more concered about what cd was in my cd player. had no adrenline and no energy so sat like a lump.

arse

so then i figure, drive round the back of his car, so i did (while changing the cd for the 5th time since this started - just couldnt settle on what music - eventually settled for soulwax's new album, after trying dillinger, the vandals, a mix cd, and dillinger again).

so i drove round the back of his van and he smacks my rear window as i drive past - give it a good clout lol and i got through the lights and raced off.

annoyinly i still had no adrenaline or energy - wasnt really in a people mood (i had been working in a busy shop on xmas eve...)

didnt come accross him again.

had to wonder though

it was xmas eve

i mean, merry christmas.....

(have his number plate and i think i remember the compnay name on the van and the phone number - only the phone number dont seem to work)

this incident and mcdonalds is why i hate the world

peace

That's really s**t.

Post up his number plate and phone number and anyone near you can keep an eye out for him. I'd phone the police as he may have had other complaints.

i dont know if its a good thing but a would have got out and lamped the tw*t
some people are just born bellends and need teaching a lesson on the odd occasion
why don't people drive like the germans on the autobhans using the logic of your going faster than me so i will get out the way no problem, what is it with this country
when i had my vr6 i remember this beemer came flying up behind me on the a45 wasn't exactly sticking to the speed limit but he was going quicker(quite a bit quicker actually) so just moved over and let him pass  no problems.

thats the kind of BS that would have me straight on the moblower to the cops* with the location and his plate, as he's probably had a skinful and is in a mood (and of the eye-motor neurone capacity) to end up killing someone by the end of the night. what a total melvin.

least you dont seem too affected by it - hope the rest of your season goes off a whole lot better.

* i refuse to join in with the current chav trend of calling them the 5-0 because it's, well, just plain silly.

** first rule of defensive driving is to keep out of other peoples way and not cause them to have to swerve/brake/accelerate/overtake to avoid you as the "obstacle" isnt it? within reason at least. for some reason folk have a hard time understanding this and often even seem resentful of you trying to teach it to them. arrogance.... its a fine line.

what i am doing with the number plate is asking a mate whos bro is in the police to check the plate up and see if theres any way he can scare the dude and get me the contact details of the company so i can complain to the guys boss and hopefully get him sacked at christmas...

telling the police outright means i'd have to file a formal complaint through the courts (and that'll be more time than its worth, cos he wont even get a slapped wrist for it..)

i was thinking more along the lines of telling them to keep an eye out for him and give a breath test etc.... i understand they take such requests quite seriously e.g. you've seen a guy leaving the pub and getting into his car after 8 pints....

thats the kinda s**t where i would pull over willingly, then get out my martial arts sticks and ask the guy where he WAS going to, and then tell him that i did not know there was a hospital there

what an idiot (white van men) next time show no fear...get out and make him look tiny

hhahah

Christmas is a moody time of year for me and as such I tend to rack up the miles listening to tunes and chilling out. I wish I had a camera mounted in my car to record the poor standard of driving prevalent over the last few days. But hey, they weren't speeding so they must be safe and as I drive a non-standard car it must be my fault...

sounds like you encountered a complete t**t anyway! where abouts did it happen?

you'd be wasting your time phoning the police, or even his company. neither would do anything for something like this. just put it down to experience & make sure you carry a wheel brace or something under your seat in case next time you can't make an escape.

What was the phone number you got?

Probably wouldn't take long to get the correct one with a couple of google searches.
