Hey People,

I'm a novice with modin up car's so I'd like some help please.

My car's a Polo GTi 1.6 and basically I want to improve the performace.

I've been told that a air pipe will only give a extra 2-3 bhp is this true? If coupled with a new exhaust would this be the solution?

Please help

Thanks,

Brij

Hi chap,

Welcome to UK-P! :D

From what I gather from previous posts, you're best bet is going for either a BMC CDA induction kit or a K&N panel filter to replace the standard filter. Obviously the BMC is more expensive, but you'll get more power and a nice throaty roar 8) for stockists have a look at somewhere like www.passionmotorsport.co.uk. Theres quite a few guys on here with a BMC on their GTi and I've not heard any bad reports :)

If you couple the induction kit with a cat-back stainless steel exhaust, you should get a few extra horses! Of course you can always bypass the cat but then you need to put it back on for the MOT...

Finally - ever thought about NOS? 8) 8)

Cheers

Oh my god.....another GTi from the Sheffield area.

Where abouts are you from?

Anyway, i've got a BMC CDA on my GTi and its ace. Love the sound it gives and have definately noticed better performance. I'm just waiting for a group buy to be sorted out on a short shifter, and then i think its time for lowering.

Get a BMC CDA, i'm sure you wont be disappointed.

Hi from me aswell and welcome to the group.

Hope you enjoy the car, I'm sure you will.

I fitted a K&N Panel filter and there is defo a little extra power when you get towards the top end of the rev range....Sounds a little nicer too i'm sure.

I reckon we ought to change the name of the group to Sheffield-Polos.net........   How about it Josh???

Cheers

Dave.
