Hi, well now I have my windows automatically going up and down again, I noted that my passenger window goes all the way down, but my Drivers window goes down and stops with 3 inches of window still showing?

Any ideas on getting the window all the way down as per the passenger side, or is this they way it's meant to be?

thats quite a weird one... does it sound like the motor's straining ?

i'm just wondering if there's anything that could be mechanically stopping the window opening or if its electrical, like a limit switch.

I can't remember how much you can see if you take the door card off to investigate - probably wont be much.

When my mate's Bora drivers window started playing up (and eventually fell down out of sight into the door ) we found there was a circular piece of plastic that wound a wire cable up and down inside the door, lifting the window somehow, this had broken into pieces and all jammed up.
All good fun in a hotel carpark when you have to strip the door down to shut the damn window!

Well, the motor is not straining... it just seems to go down normally, but not all the way down. I reckon there's some code that got messed up when the battery went flat. I'll have to ask the VW techy's (hoho) when it goes in for a service.
