Just got my bill for my first AVS service. Which is Oil filter, Sump Plug, Screenwash and Pollen Filter, I provided my own SLX2 oil (£50's worth)

£122.83 And they've given me 10% 'generous' staff discount.

So this means, If I had been a 'normal' Customer, I would have been paying over £200 for a service, absolutely disgusting pricing!! You would've thought with all the problems and hassle they've given me, as well as all my fuel they've wasted picking up/dropping off my cars for the last 3 years, they could do better than that!

Is this the long life service? or am I getting it mixed up?

I'm sure I only paid around £130. Surely the oil should only be costing £20-30 at most?? It only cost £22 on the Type-R and that was the good s**t.

Paid 268 euro for my first service. That's 233.29 pound...

dont meen to boast but all my services are free, me and my wife work at VW in Preston.

Hello i´m from Portugal and i have 9n 1.4 tdi with 87000 kms and i went to VW dealer to mark to the 90000 kms and they told that the price of this service will be near 900€. I´m still thinking if the guy was not joking with me.

Paid about 260 euros for the first (and the only) service with my ex-Polo. That was with the 1.2L engine if that makes any difference. Needs less oil anyway.

Here in Spain I payed 300 € doing also brake pads with long life oil service. They are thieves. Castrol oil cost 24 € per litre. Now I buy Repsol oil because they sell it on Seat, I buy in Seat because they have the same parts in Ibiza for my Polo and are cheapest. And then I do all the works in my garage it cost my around 100 € (All the filters, 5 litres of oil 0W30,...)

I used my charm at a volkswagen garage and said I wasnt paying the £120.00 for them to put oil in my car.
So after walking away the service guy ran up and asked how much I'd pay so I said
£90
and he did it so next time bargin them down because its worth it I promise[/b]

£200 sounds about "average" for VW services.

I've just had my 30,000KM service done and the dealership charged me about £130 for mineral oil, pollen, air and fuel filters, plus the usuas "checks". They've also cleaned up the injectors.

That was in a Brazilian dealership, and labour here costs a lot less than in England.

The disgusting thing is, VW dealers have managed to change the servicing schedule for all VW cars (even the Touareg!) and are now booking us for a service every 6 months or 7,500KM instead of the 15,000KM that the booklet says.

I'm changing the oil to synthetic in about 1000km and keeping the 15,000km intervals.

£200 doesn't sound so bad if you're in England though, especially with the (recommended) long service intervals.
