My door has fallen a little on the Gt (drivers) and now there is water coming in through the gap.

Could someone tell me how to lift the door back up.

Thanks

I went as far as even scanning the page out of the Haynes for you!

My new GT has dropped on the drivers door a touch. I've bought new hinge pins but I will get new hinge halfs, as thats where the play is.

The panel gap on my drivers door sort of tapers in at the top. The only way to compensate in this case is to give the upper hinge a good sharp smack towards the front of the car - which was apparently the norm on the production lines!! :o

Glad it's a regular fault, mine's done the same but on the passenger side!

Not keen on the remedy though!

Yeah I was suprised too, as my driver side door has done it as well. I haven't got round to adjusting it yet - I really should however, as it's scratched/scratching the fook out of my door sill.

I think with a short plank of wood and a chunky hammer you might be able to put it right without too much concern.

I suppose you could try lifting the bottom of the door with it just slightly ajar. You'd get a fair bit of leverage that way!!

Mines is the exact same as yours Del.

Does water get in through your door seal. at the top.

Well, I've noticed some suds and splashes of water along the top of the door there after a wash so now I think about it - yes, it does.

Lol, you must know me then.

I'll try getting help first and get some one to lift the door before i get the hammer out.

I'm too scared... I'm gonna leave it.

Doesn't catch on anything and isn't too noticeable, but I see it.

Hmm. Surely a slightly kinder remedy would be to loosen the top hinge bolt, move the door into place and then tighten it up in a civilised, non-brutal manner? Maybe less fun though
