VW Customer care finally contacted me regarding this radio issue and advised I book the care in again (3rd time) and in the mean time they will pass my fault on to there technical guys, I can see this issue dragging on and remaining unresolved. My wife has a Polo with the lesser RCD310, this is fitted with DAB and never loses signal where my RCD510 does. It certainly seems to point to something dodgy within the 510 DAB radios.

Yes, standard roof mounted. To me it seems when the radio is turned off and ignition switched off the signal becomes lost and not stored, when you restart the radio appears to be looking for that last used signal/station again.

The radio is being replaced next week, conclusion was an internal fault within the radio.

It was a fault in the radio its self. You turned it on and after you turned it on, would play the radio station on dab for about 1 minute or shorter and then it would go silent then the no signal ...

The same thing happens on my R-Line, start the car DAB Radio plays then it cuts off for 5-10 seconds and then comes back and all is well. Bit odd, maybe it searches for the strongest signal? FM is fine and does not do this.

Had similar issues from new, discs and pads supposed to have been changed. Problem still exists intermittently. Have given up on it now

I have certainly got some weird and mysterious gremlins, the trouble is when you turn up at the dealers the damn gremlins are nowhere to be heard

Had my 13 plate 3dr R-Line for 4 months and have been very disappointed with it,
Here is a list of issues I have had, some resolved some not,

1.Loss of fuel readout - now working, unexplained
2.Loss of temp display - now working, unexplained
3.Radio playing no display - now working, unexplained
4 ...

Driving along yesterday glanced down at the computer display on my R-Line and the outside temp display had disappeared along with the fuel gauge reading (showing empty). Pulled over switched engine off, restarted the car and all was well again. Any ideas why this would happen?

I am considering investing in a set of VW 17" Black Motorsport alloys for my white R-Line, I think the car would look better with bigger alloys. Does anyone else agree?

Also would putting on bigger alloys have an effect on the tyre pressure monitor?
