problem sorted,was the new rtx allternater that I had fitted was faulty !! only six weeks old and was kicking out 17v swapped it for a new bosch one and its cured the problem,well since Monday anyway.car drives as it should now though with no problems at all.

problem was battery at first because car was slow to start until it went flat,since new battery the car starts first time and fast.auto electrian checked the fuses above batt and all earth leads etc.one 40amp fuse had a hairline crack which they replaced. cant understand it.the glow plug relay ...
