Re: 18,600 miles for first service
There’s two service regimes, long life and standard. Long life is 18000 miles or two years and standard is 10000 miles or one year. All of the cars seem to come set to long life now unless you say otherwise when you collect. Seems daft as the average person only does about 7000 miles a year in the U...

Re: Gti boot setting
I love my daughter, but there are days I wondered why I had a kid…. I love my gti, first service they said it was immaculate and I need to drive harder as I’ve still 5mm tread on my fronts :D . We do need a family car though and as someone doing the Manchester M61 run, it’s not fun in bad weather in...

Re: DSG sticking in 2nd gear
Shame to hear you’ve had such issues. My experience of polos has been they’re either great or terrible. My BlueGt had a billion problems, but my gti+ was fine. Then my facelift gti again had a bucket of problems but the replacement (touchwood) has been ok.

Re: Gti boot setting
Sorry @grazuncle2, I was in a rush to get to service as it’s a 20 mile drive and I always empty my car prior so nothing goes missing. Bad experiences with past dealerships. I’ve just got the tyre gunk, so maybe that’s why. I’ve had the car a year and didn’t even notice. Makes the boot much bigger :D...

Gti boot setting
Am I being stupid? I was always told you can’t put the gti boot in the lowest setting due to the battery. Well I just tried it on mine whilst clearing it out for service, and it went in just fine….
Am I following old advice and you can actually use the full boot of the gti?

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Should be haptic. Was only the steering wheels that were switching back as far as I’m aware. Had the haptic sliders in this car and my previous Tiguan and have no issues with them as I’ve learned where they are with them feeling slightly recessed. Can see how some might not like them though.

Re: My auto lock when I drive off has stopped locking , any ideas ?
My car is a november 2022 facelift gti and has the auto lock function. My wife’s is an august 2022 facelift r line and also has it. It’s been standard on VW cars for ages so sounds more like an issue where it has been taken off yours for some reason.

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
I THINK it’s usb C, however not 100% sure as you can use CarPlay wirelessly in the facelift. Haven’t connected my phone to the car since my gti+.

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
I understand why they did this but, having had the haptic buttons on the wheel for 12 months, I don’t think they’re that bad. Expensive to replace eventually I’m sure, but I won’t keep the car that long.

Re: TPMS
Just be aware temperature changes can have an impact on tpms. Every year when we get to autumn and suddenly have a cold night, my tpms will go off saying the pressure is low and it’ll be barely noticeable. Had this happen on every car I’ve had with Tpms. As a result with this car I check the pressur...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
I have to say, the quality of certain items has decreased. My wife and I have had numerous VWs since before 2013 with all of hers being the various generations on polos. I’ve never had it before where the wipers are completely shot after 12 months with terrible judder and my drivers mat has worn thr...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
I always collect my car with the wrap on but remove it at the dealership with the salesman so I can inspect it. No way I’d trust that bunch of morons they use as “car valeters”. Even the salesman said they use the same water for multiple cars…. Like SRGTD I’ve never had a perfect car but it’s usuall...

I’m same as SRGTD, just part of getting in. Ignition on, start stop off, lane keeping off, start car.

Re: Tyre advice
Tyre places are very much a check reviews job. My nearest Kwik fit is excellent. The one near work is awful. That’s because most tyre places are franchises and owned by the manager of that store.
I certainly wouldn’t use Vw for tyres. Last time they quoted me it was double what Kwik fit charged.

Re: We connect showing a percentage instead of miles on gti
My WeConnect still shows miles. It keeps telling me to download the VW app everytime I log in which is annoying.
