sounds like my fuel pumps and it started dropping power when mine started whirring/grinding like that, its the sound of shot fuel pumps i think! your exhaust leaking will also bring it down on power and cause idle problems as again i experienced the same on my GT (RIP HANNAH! she came off the road ...

ok, will try that tommorow after work, but it seems to have stopped now ive put some fuel in (only about 4 litres out a jerry can) and i dont htink its too obvious dan because im not 100% as to where abous the two pumps are located

im not really sure where hte noise is coming from, its coming from the drivers side at the back but couldnt tell you if its the inline or the lift pump this sound file is recorded off my phone, you cant hear it too well on here for some reaosn but its really clear on my phone. i sat the phone on top ...

horrible noises from my tank......

i think my fuel pump may be shot! its making kind of grinding noises, it only seems to do it when im kind of low on fuel though...... if it has gone, is this the right replacement part?

my mate george is doing this with his 1litre mark 3 hatchy! he found direct replacement panels from VW for £25 a side. they will be here on monday.............

when mine was half stripped- no rear seats, belts, spare wheel, empty boot, no ice or anyhting, we did a 0-60 run of 8.9 as the highest we got and that was using a stopwatch. now i have all my interior back in, quickest i could get was 9.8 soo....... but dont take those figures as accurate cos like ...

100?! 80!? jesus, mine only dips over 75 maximum even in town! i have to leave it sat for about 20 minutes on idle before it hits 80.
