Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
So after a short hiatus, I'm back for more! I'm ready for my next missions! Are you with me Fernando? I have completed all of the plumbing, and most of the wiring for the headlight washers. Only problem is, I don't know which pin on the BCM is the correct one! Any ideas? Next is headlig...

Re: Adam’s T5.1 GP
Wow! Those mods tho! Beautiful van! Three questions if I may.... 1. Where did you source the instrument cluster? I want! 2. How did you overcome component protection on the Discover Media? Again, I want! 3. Did you need to change your washer bottle for the headlight washers? If so, do you have the ...

Well, after driving around with uneven DRLs for a week, the second module finally arrived!! :D Fully functioning headlights, curtesy of ciclo! DRLs only http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/w625/graylscott/IMG_0437_zpsnq8xzmz4.jpg Dipped beam http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/w625/graylsc...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Okay... so luckily I noticed this before I started pulling my headlight units apart again. I suspect that the problem with my LEDs was not caused by my work to switch from LHD to RHD, but was in fact a purchasing error. On inspection of the pin layout on the LED ballast, I noticed that it is ...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
You sir, are a genius! All working! But you knew that. The top half of my LEDs are still not working, however I suspect that I neglected to reconnect something while I had the headlights open to change them from LHD to RHD. I will open them up again tomorrow and take photos o...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Thanks Fernando! If the 'Leaving Home function' is working it means that the wiring installation is correct. By the way, the Coming Home function is by pulling the Stalk for High Beam once, after removing the keys from the ignition switch. It's a semiautomatic function. This was my thinking, which i...

Re: Adam’s T5.1 GP
The discover media component protection (CP) requires the unit to firstly not have CP activated. Then the unit then needs this little PCB soldering in place of the eeprom chip and the eeprom chip being soldered onto the new patch PCB http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg517/inosum187/Mobile%20Uplo...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Is your BCM already coded for automatic lights? do you have a recent vcds autoscan? I believe so... I was under the impression that the coding that ciclo gave me set everything up in advance. I have checked through the coding the Light sensor function is active. I will post an auto-scan when I get ...

Okay, so here it goes! First of all, I want to say what feels like my 1000th thank you to you Fernando! I received my gift earlier on this week! :D This morning, I finally got enough time away from work to play! So, all is working with the headlight switch as I would expect. All lighting is n...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Thanks you so much Fernando! You are not going to be happy with me though, I forgot to take photographs of the engine bay fuse wiring! I remembered after having put everything back together. The diagram for step one is very accurate though! Firsly, it is not clear in the diagram, but the uni...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit
You can do steps 1 and 2 of the wiring adaptation with the next setting. Fantastic news! I was hoping you'd say that! I want to have some fun this weekend! :) Kufatec harness - Check Xenons - Check Coding - Check T17/3 removal - We'll call that 'Step 0' You'll have almost all the light...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit
Amazing! Thanks once again! :D Are these changes reliant on the light switch wiring being in place or can they be done now? What I am really asking is can I make the changes prior to the headlight harness without affecting current light function? At the moment it is dark when I drive to work and dar...

Re: Auto headlight retrofit
As I mentioned earlier we would do this work in three phases/steps/stages, from easy to difficult. The first step was to improve the Kufatec harness for your T5. (Bixenon headlights) The second step is to improve the 6R wiring for automatic lights for any T5 8K0/8K1. The last step will be to modify...
