Re: Polo GTI manual?

VAG have been steering people away from manuals towards DSG for years and years.
If there isn't already a manual, maybe doubtful there ever will be.
I think it's a shame, as I had DSG for three years and won't ever have it again.
But lots of people love it.

Re: Aerial Base

Poor service from them to not be specific.
And petty of them not to honour the replacement anyway.

Re: Tyre pressure ghosts

Yes, it tells you which tyre - as I goind out when I had a screw in a tyre a while back (£27 for a repair!). Ok, cool, well that just shows it was some weird fault. The tyre warning light came on in the dash, a loud 'BING' and a message on the dash MFD. But the multimedia screen didn't show any par...

Re: Aerial Base

What 'outside influence' did they give?
It's suggests they're saying it's something you're doing, like putting it through carwashes with the aerial still fitted?
It seems very petty of them though.

Re: New 2018 Polo GTI faults

Thought I would share and add to the existing topic instead of starting a new one..... After waiting a whopping 68 Weeks to take delivery of a GTi+ I picked up my new car Sunday 12/05. Fault 1. Monday 13/05 (1 day later)- When engaging reverse I get a warning referencing the reverse light followed ...

Re: Knocking from rear driver side

Funnily enough that was my initial thought during the first visit, but they disregarded due to mileage (<5k). I'll be insisting they look this time round! Mileage is a daft reason for them to dismiss it. Our Captur and Juke (same suspension) both needed front bushes under 10000 miles, it's a common...

Re: Servicing interval

Hi, All I can say it’s a good job it’s only oil we are worrying about. My original 1960’s Mini needed oil and filter changed after 5000 miles, and that’s assuming the oil hadn’t already leaked over the garage floor, mechanical points changed, rotor arm replaced or cleaned in the distributor, spark ...

Re: Misty headlight

Have left the car running with the lights on in the (secure) office carpark, try and burn off the mist.
Up to 8 people coming in and telling me now...
This damn car is just one form of stress after another. :D

Re: Tyre pressure ghosts

Well, perhaps the Polo system is supposed to tell us which tyre. But seeing as it was a false alarm and all tyres were fine, it couldn't/wouldn't.... Interested to find out if a proper warning would have shown the affected tyre. The graphic does suggest it would. All four tyres were showing as a sor...

Re: Tyre pressure ghosts

I’ve only had one false alarm and didn’t find it a big issue or inconvenience to quickly check tyre pressure of each tyre - always keep a tyre pressure gauge my tyre inflator / compressor in the car as you never know when you might need it. You're right, it doesn't take long but it's still an avoid...

Re: Tyre pressure ghosts

Even if this is a basic system that 'only' senses a difference in wheel speed, rather than an actual drop in pressure, surely it can tell us which wheel on the display.....?

Re: Knocking from rear driver side

So when the cars sat over night or for a couple of hours there is no noise. After driving for a short period and going over one of the many speed humps around where I stay, the squeaking appears! This gets progressively worse as the driving goes on and noticeable on anything but the smoothest surfa...

I'll give the cloth a shot! Do you have a picture of where you've put yours?
Here you go
Literally bottom right of the tailgate.
Overlapping the seal, but not enough that it pokes out of the bottom of the tailgate when closed.

Re: Knocking from rear driver side

Latest update - Both issues are back again. The dash noise only manifests when either someone >12 stone sits in the passenger seat OR the AC is on low. The rear squeak is more of a knocking now, can be ok after sitting for a period but go over a speed bump or a particularly rough spot and it comes ...

Agreed but not sure about the brake pedal reaction, that seems odd.
He doesn't seem to be saying the brake pedal is reacting strangely.
Just that he 'feels' bumps through the pedal, which seems fine to me.
You want some feel for the road through the pedal, no feel would be awful.
