Re: 2022 GTI Dashboard rattle - GOD HELP US
Sounds exactly like my one used to make. It was the parking handle brake button. Try pressing it whilst driving.

Re: How My VW Polo Saved My Life in a Serious Accident
Thanks for the well wishes! It reminds me of how much cars have improved in passive safety over the last 25 years. If this had been a car from the 90s, there’s no doubt I’d be surprised if I was still here!

How My VW Polo Saved My Life in a Serious Accident
Hi all, I want to use this opportunity to say how safe the polo is as it saved me in a pretty severe accident. I was driving down a country lane, and came to a bend a bit too fast and also skidded on some mud that was just prior to it, and went into a tree at about 50mph. All airbags deployed and ...

Re: Do These IQ Lights Turn Around Corners?
I believe they meant that your car has cornering lights, which operate separately from your IQ lights. In my Polo, which also has IQ lights, the cornering lights are actually the fog lights, not built into the headlight unit. The fog lights illuminate on the side you’re turning, similar to the ...

Wireless Apple car play not working
So, I installed a beta version of iOS, and now my Apple CarPlay just won't connect. I've tried updating the car's infotainment system with the latest over the air updates, but nothing works. I’ve reset both the car system and my phone’s network settings, even removed the phone from the car’s ...

Re: Polo 2022 - when auto is switched for wipers it makes a noise
I've owned two Polos, and both had incredibly loud window wipers from the start. After enduring the constant juddering for three months, I switched to Valeo Silenco wipers, which are blissfully silent—exactly as they should be. I’ve never experienced new wipers that juddered so much. They were ...

Re: Changing fan/blower speed
Your car's alternator cleverly adjusts its power output based on driving conditions. During normal cruising or idling, the alternator's draw on the engine is normal.
However, when you accelerate, the car intentionally reduces the alternator's load. This frees up engine power for smoother ...

Wireless Apple CarPlay Issue with iPhone 15 Pro Max
I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the wireless Apple CarPlay. It’s been a breeze for the longest time, but two months ago, it just stopped connecting without wires. The wired connection still works, but that’s not really why we go wireless, is it? I’ve updated the car’s ...

Re: Polo GTI "whistle" sound
The infotainment fan is located around the glovebox compartment and you can hear it but it doesn’t sound like that sound you have. In my new polo the fan is a lot quieter than the last polo I owned from 2019, but another thing it could be is your air conditioning pump as it sounds like some sort of ...

Re: Please help! 2020 Match TSI - Turbo failure at 35,000 miles
Hi Maisierobs,
In light of the information that the turbo actuator rod appears significantly older than the car and the suggestion that it may have been previously repaired, here are some factual points you can present to the dealer;
Condition of the Rod - The apparent age and condition of the turbo ...

Steering wheel ripples
Hi all, I had a bad habit of driving with my right hand mainly and after a year and 3 months it’s caused the right side of my steering wheel to be all ripples. I’ve attached a picture so you can see what I mean. Is there anyway of getting these out or making the leather filled out so it’s plush ...

Re: High Idle/ Rough engine
My 1.0 tsi with GPF idles at around 900rpm once it has fully warmed up. The first start it will idle at 1500rpm then after 20 seconds or more if is cold and will go back down. I’ve had my car for a year and 3 months and it’s never idled that high when it’s been at operating temperature. I would ...

Re: New Buyer Advice!
I have a facelift polo R line and haven’t had any problems in the year and 3 months that I’ve owned it. There is one slight annoyance I noticed that after a few months whenever I play loud music with high bass the rear door cards vibrate and so do the front ones. I specified my one to come with ...

Re: Dash faults driving me mad!
When you say that you spoilt the water over the electrics when filling up the washer fluid, I think that would be the ECU and the external fuse box that was doused with screen wash. I would think that it does sound a bit of a coincidence that the indicators states flashing when you did that so ...
