Re: Polo Gti+ Pure White New Car Prep

Credit where it's due that is one hell of a job - I bet the paint is a smooth as glass and the rest. 8)

Good to know it's protected once the rubbish weather starts to arrive, and should clean up quicker.

Re: USB port not charging

Gone are the days you could call in, a person would take a look and then go into the back and come out to fix things which are a 5 minute job like this sounds to be. Indeed. A bug bear of mine is perfectly exemplified by the misting headlight in my 'Beats' I put it in, they agreed there was a probl...

Re: Polo 1.0 SE MPI 75hp review

It's a shame as you can buy the Match or Beats with all the same equipment for a decent price but the 80hp EVO engine kills it. I've noticed these are all insurance group 1 as low as it goes so obviously VW are aiming for the young driver market, parents buy them one as it looks decent and full of k...

Re: USB port not charging

Dealers seem to work on a two-appointment basis these days. First appointment to confirm the problem and order any parts, another appointment to fix it. It's so infuriating, but they all seem to work this way these days - regardless of make. Gone are the days you could call in, a person would take ...

Re: I’ve joined the GTI+ club!

Only thing I dropped was Climate which I think is over priced for a small car. I wish I'd been able to spec climate in my GTI, I'd have gladly spent the £290 for it, but it's a stock car. IMO little ages/cheapens the interior of a car more than old-fashioned heater knobs/dials. :( I prefer traditio...

Re: Running car in

I think up to 500 miles take it easy then just drive as normal. Worst thing you can do is pooter around it can cause long term problems with oil consumption.
Mine now on 30k and doesn't use a drop of oil, was thrashed regularly as a courtesy car judging by the front tyres when I bought it :P

Re: Polo AW Photo Gallery

Just a few images of my wife’s new United spec in Atlantic blue after I’d treated it with chemical guys hydro slick. Very easy to use, will be interesting to see how far it goes compared to the 12 month claims That looks very shiny and impressive, I like the shade of blue it's a bit darker than the...

Re: Usb charge points stopped working

Does you phone react when the cable is plugged in, e.g start charging? Then at least electric is getting to it from the socket and it might be the Apple Play is having a problem synching between your phone and the head unit. If no phone charging then obvious it's a fuse gone and the USB are dead. I'...

Re: Honest opinion - anyone else regret buying their GTI?

So you got the Standard GTI? No wonder you're disappointed. The GTI+ is rammed with spec. It doesn't have heated seats (is there a need without leather?), satnav isn't usually standard spec in this segment. Soundaltors are in many VAG cars, certainly all the hot hatches, including the S3/Golf R. It...

Re: Polo AW Photo Gallery

What a beauty..😍 I honestly don't think there's a wrong colour to have the Polo GTI. Every colour shown looks class. Some have their favourites but you can't argue that every colour and car posted looks amazing. Yes they do all look amazing when polished up and in mint condition - what colour did y...

Re: Delivery/Tracking

A step closer... Had a call this morning from the dealership. Turns out my car is due to be sited on the 2nd and ready to be collected on the 4th. The long wait is may be coming to an end! Excellent news! Not a bad birthday present - in just over a week you will be a GTI driver... 8) Cheers mate, i...

Re: Service plan

Be aware that as the service plan covers just two standard services, any other scheduled or recommended maintenance work will be charged for separately. It’s normal practice for the dealer to try and up-sell the air con service when the car’s two years old, and VW’s current price for this is £139. ...

Re: Service plan

Definitely worth opting for. I pay myself and have had two services so far and both were about £240 each - very expensive for essentially an oil change and inspection. Never had anything else replaced except oil, oil filter and pollen filter at year 2. On original brakes and spark plugs. When those ...
