I did the same when fitting a RVC. Cleared the fault code in VCDS and all good. Didn't need to log into any modules.

Highline RVC Emblem retrofit
Just managed to fit a highline RVC to my Polo AW. Did quite a bit of research before I attempted it but I'm never confident until it works.
I got a 3G0827469 with KA2 highline camera from vwmodul_de on ebay ~£280 with delivery. Could have got it a bit cheaper but these said that the parameter file ...
