Re: travel assist currently unavailable
If the fault rate was as high as 50k replacements in the UK alone! Considering the time frame for a replacement wheel (IE. several months), then I can actually believe this figure. Then I'm truly shocked that VW have not got to the bottom of this issue quicker. Assuming they actually know what the u...

Re: travel assist currently unavailable
I'll join the club of travel assist woes, mine started to do it a few weeks back and get it about 4 times a day now, really annoying as i had a mk8 r that i hated due to the interior system being absolutely useless, hope this is fixed somehow If it's the same thing as everyone else. Then sadly the ...

Re: Car accident repair cost (pic included)
That estimate is truly astounding! I'd be willing to bet that a decent independent would be half the price. As has already been said "no wonder insurance premiums have gone up so much in price". Sad in a way to see that the Insurance companies just accept this level of rip off. PS. Front V...

Re: travel assist currently unavailable
So I've had the steering wheel replaced, like for like. A software update was also done for Bluetooth, which became the real problem for me. So far, so good. Good news. Lets hope that's the problem permanently sorted for you. Gave my dealer a phone this morning to ask if the new steering wheel had ...

Re: shocked at my gti car insurance increase
Thought I would resurrect this thread. Just got my renewal through from Darwin and guess what.. it's almost double last years premium. And Compare the Market cheapest quotes are around 50% + on last years premium. So... tried VW Insurance (same under writers as Darwin and many others) and the quoted...

Re: travel assist currently unavailable
Just wondering if anyone that's waiting for a new steering wheel has heard anything yet? Last I heard was "by the end of June". Might give the dealer a buzz next week and see what's going on (assuming they know of course :D ). No news on my steering wheel. Went in on the middle of April. ...

Re: Oug8 update showing in car, could not download
I got the update message this morning and pressed OK and nothing happened. Not the first time that I've had this happen since I bought the car (2022 GTI) last September. In fact I've only had one update actually download and install itself successfully so far. I think VW's OTA update system is more ...

Re: Cost of replacing a cam belt has just risen by 50%
Daylight robbery! As to: "so overall revenue for servicing / repairs has dropped" ... not sure that jacking your prices up is a good way to go to encourage folks to take their car to a VW dealership for servicing :? When a bought my Polo GTI last September, the two year service package was...

"Just goes to show how economical the GTI can be; I rarely used to see 57mpg on that route (which I drive regularly) when I owned diesel VW’s."

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
" Was there any solution to getting rid of this without having to swipe it away etc?" Think this was probably me asking the question. And as far as I know, there is no way round this. The fuel grade issue is a bit contentious really. Think I've lost count of the number of threads on variou...

Re: shocked at my gti car insurance increase
Interestingly. VW car Insurance, Direct Line and Darwin (+ a number of others) are all underwritten by U K Insurance Limited. LEEA123 "I have 15 years ncb and they only take into account 9 years. The protected ncb would be extra 50 pounds, can't see the point if they only take into account nine...

Re: shocked at my gti car insurance increase
Out of interest... I requested a quote from confused.com for my car (Polo GTI 2022 model) and the cheapest quote was from my current insurer (Darwin) and the increase is pretty much 30% !!! Fair enough, my premium is pretty low to start with (was £230 and cheapest quote was approx £300). One of the ...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
The car rides just fine on the 18in rims. No worries there.
Only two settings on the suspension (IE. Normal and Sport).
I think the light bar only comes on with the head lights.
