Fixing Wing Mirror and electric windows this weekend

as the title says, im fitting a new drivers side wing mirror and also want to take the door card of drivers door to fix the elecy windows - just want some hints and tips on doing this and some do and donts so i dont break anything. Cheers in advance.

there is a set of cables hidden in a black casing on the door, (it travels from the car to the door) youll know what i mean when you see it!

pull the balck casing back and check all the cables are ok, they very often frey or break and this is usually the cause of this fault

I had a look at this ...

Electric Window on drivers side not working

Anyone advise me how to fix my elecy windows on my polo - the driver side has two buttons, one for drivers window and one for the passesnger one, the passenger button (on the drivers side) presses but the window doesnt come down, but the drivers works fine, also if i press the passenger side button ...
