Got everything sorted now, only thing I’m wondering I might have missed is the bolts that mount the carriers to the wheel hub. Do you know if you used the stock polo bolts or did you use Cupra R bolts?
stock polo bolts work perfectly

Re: GTI 6C Brake Upgrade

So I’ve decided to order some MK1 Cupra R Brembo front Calipers today… other than discs, pads and hose, what else will I need to get? Do the brembos fit on the same calipers mount as the stock polo? if you get the carriers off the Cupra R they are a straight bolt on. you will need 15mm spacers to c...

amer6R wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 6:01 pm And here we again reach the topic of brake master cylinder.
My brake pedal is just as firm with the seat leon 323mm brembos and 256mm rears.

but there is lots of differences i believe between models and if LHD or RHD.

Re: GTI 6C Brake Upgrade

the easiest upgrade for the 6c is to get a full of brakes off a seat leon Mk1 cupra R . you will need to run spacers on the front to clear the calipers but they are pretty much bolt on (new flexi hoses on the front only thing required) the rears are 256mm vented aswell and use the correct 2wd carrie...

Re: Broken Headunit replacement/repair help please

You would think that now that quite a few of them have failed, if that is in deed true, there will be somewhere that can fix them at a sensible cost. Also, scrappy selling serviceable units from crashed cars, if you do go down that route, having identified the infotainment unit that you need and is...

https://northeastvagadaptions.co.uk/

try these.

If you are not looking for an upgraded unit with app connect they may be able to do something with a basic unit for about the same cost as an after market unit but retain 100% functionality

Re: engine swap

the stock engine code is DAJ (i believe both manual and dsg are interchangeable) ea888 gen 3 the seat ibiza, audi a1 are the same engine. The issue with using one from a different car is it may use a different gearbox so your stock gearbox won't fit (polo uses 02M equivalent where the others probabl...

pretty sure the diesel itself is used to lubricate the pump which pertrol doesn't off, so i guess you are on to something

Re: Fuel Range Issue - Maybe??

the car uses the mpg to calculate the range. (you can manipulate it with vcds to give you loads of range)

i would say that once you get on the motorway and start cruising you will probably see the range climb.

i managed 350 miles in my 350bhp gti so 400 should be fairly easy to attain

uncledunnie wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 2:35 pm Hi Dink,

would something like this be a cost effective solution for 6C owners?
probably but i'd still opt for an genuine unlocked unit from one of the many places that offer them.

the price may be a little bit more but you know the functionality is all going to be still there.

Re: Question regarding RCD330 replacement for MIB2 unit

Hi Toscani07, I fitted an RCD330 into my 6R earlier this year, it was a trouble free install. there is a big difference between the 6r and 6c. the RCD330 is designed to be a plug and play install in the 6r. The 6c is much closer to mk7 golf electrics the 6c resets the tyre pressure monitoring via t...
