Re: gti 6c shocks and sport button
unfortunatly you can't get dampers to work with the sport button. so you will get a damper fault on the dashboard if you don't get the delete kit the delete kit is best part of £300 I have made a delete module to clear the fault that i sell if you want to take a look https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20424...

Re: Hpfp removal & fuse
No problem.
I took mine off quite a few times when I was trying to get the golf pump to work.
I got it down to about 20 mins to swap the pump if I didn't care about the fuel lol

Re: Hpfp removal & fuse
there isn't a fuse it comes straight off the ECU. Even pulling the fuse wouldn't relieve any pressure. Best way is unplug the fuel solenoid off the pump and pull the fuse for the Low pressure pump then start the car. It'll run for a bit then cut out and reduce the pressure as far as possible. You do...

Re: LSD for Polo GTI
i've got a quaife fitted to my polo gti and love it. it does help with wheel spin (although i still get it if provoked) but it definitely lights up both tyres and general driving does help with getting off roundabouts etc. i paid £1400 for it all in (same day fitting) but that was for a manual but t...

Re: Replacement head unit - CarPlay
Thank you for the information, very useful. £400 is above my price range so maybe I could look for a cheaper 2nd hand unit. I see the company you linked are based in Durham, which is where I work, so for £100 activation fee I may be able to find a used unit that fits my budget, I can’t spend more t...

Re: Replacement head unit - CarPlay
i'd spend the extra and get this https://northeastvagadaptions.co.uk/collections/vw/products/mib2-unlocked-activated-unit-app-connect fully OEM so you don't lose any functions and not having to move the wiring about (headunit is in the glovebox and it's just a screen in the dash) you could also find...

Re: High pressure fuel pump
unfortunately the fuel metering valve is part of the pump and not separate. If it was me i'd buy a second hand pump (lots of people change to the 2.0 pump when tuning, myself included) so there are good second hand parts available. to do the job via vw handbook probably is 6hrs as it would involve r...

Re: Xenon to LED upgrade ?
remember the GTI has a red stripe inside so may stand out if not tied in with a GTI grille
they are available on non-GTI models so would look for some of them (possibly cheaper too)

Re: 5F modual location/replacment
No your gateway will be a 6C0... number. The 5F unit is indeed located on the bottom of your glove box compartment. does the 6c actually have a gateway? i've looked everywhere and to me it looks like it's built into the BCM and yes the 5f is the unit in the glovebox only this unit needs changing no...

Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
Hows the noise with the single mass you are running? I considered the manual swap also, QQR gearbox is nowhere to be found in SA. Would the G7 Gti manual box work? Also your flywheel, is it 6 or 8 bolt? proper noisy at idle and low rpm so i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Yeah the dq200 should nev...

Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
i don't know if this is different but looking at the wiring diagrams i have for my 6c GTI i downloaded for erwin
it shows that the dsg controller has a 25 pin plug rather than a 20 pin (this could be wrong as mine is a manual car)

Re: My experiences with Racingline Stage 1 tune
i'm using a sachs organic clutch kit with a single mass flywheel. i'd highly not recommend this lol yeah i have the 6 speed manual wouldn't touch the DSG with a barge pole. yeah it was pretty expensive for the tune but that was for a bigger turbo, injectors and HP fuel pump. there's probably a few o...

Re: New Clutch Suggestions?
The TT RS clutch would be a monster but i havent had much luck finding anymore details of that. I guess stock VW clutch is the only way to get the OEM feel and function, right? midland vw supply a kit but others ive seen say that the friction plate doesn't fit which is confusing if it's part of the...

Re: My experiences with Racingline Stage 1 tune
people say the clutches are weak in these but the gear box is only rated for 350Nm so the clutch has to hold around that much before it slips to save the gearbox. (in reality the gearbox can take a lot more than that) the load of a trying to accelerate in high gears will cause the slip to be a lot w...
