Definately one of the stalks. I got my replacement stalk fitted a few weeks back - washers work fine now and no more smoke!

Looks smart. Get a machine polisher on that paintwork (I've just bought one tonight)

And the ratios were exactly the same as the ones in the new one...so what explains the different revs is the question? :?

Should be around just over 3000 rpm. My new box does around 2700 rpm. Only got 270 miles before the light came on, because I'm having to stay in the lower gears for town driving

I'd have to admit the new Polo is a grower and I really like it now. The new Polo GTI may be enough to tempt me away from an Abarth 500 SS

It's definately a bigger drop in revs when you change up to 3rd, 4th or 5th.

Hopefully they will, or at least send up the correct ratios for the garage to change round. I got hardly any power in 4th or 5th and it's annoying.

83 at 4000rpm is about what I used to get too. It's annoying because there is hardly any pull in 4th and 5th with your foot flat down
