Just help fit a CAI to my brother's car, we located the filter(Ibiza Cupra Pipercross cone = football sized) under the passenger headlight right behind the fog light. We've used flexi alloy pipe straight from the TB all the way down to the cone, looks a tad crude but it will do until the samco and alloy hard pipe are made up.
We did a couple of runs each on a private road before and did the same again after, the car felt faster giving a lot more shove top end and sounding very close to a civic tyre R. It already had a K&N panel filter, smoothed air box with large cold air feed and that felt good but the difference in performeance and sound is like night and day!!!
Plus now the engine bay isn't cluttered up by crappy black plastic and the inlet manifold looks good cleaned up too.
Custom CAI fitted - AWESOME!!
Here's some pics of the CAI.

We made a stainless splash guard for it last night, so with that fitted and the water proof cover there shouldn't be an issue with water ingress.
